Overview

At ModBoys Customs, transparency is a priority. To help customers make informed purchasing decisions, we use clearly defined condition classifications across all products.

Condition classifications describe cosmetic condition, packaging, or configuration only. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, condition does not indicate differences in functionality, reliability, or performance.

Most products sold by ModBoys Customs are Refurbished, even when cosmetic condition or packaging may vary.

Controller Performance Standard

All controllers sold by ModBoys Customs are held to the same performance standard, regardless of condition tier or cosmetic appearance. Each controller is professionally modified, fully tested, and verified to function within manufacturer specifications prior to shipment, and will meet or exceed the functional performance of a stock, unmodified controller.

To meet this standard, each controller is verified for:

  • Proper operation of all buttons, triggers, and D-pad
  • Stable power delivery, battery health, and charging functionality
  • Reliable port connectivity and internal component operation
  • Accurate calibration and verification of installed TMR joystick modules

Cosmetic condition, packaging, or external housing does not affect performance, reliability, or expected lifespan.

Controller Condition Classifications

Mint In-Box

Includes a brand-new, unused original controller in its original retail box and packaging.
The manufacturer’s seal is opened only to install selected modifications and perform verification testing. The controller itself is never used and remains in mint cosmetic condition.

All modifications and add-on components are brand new and professionally installed. Each controller meets the ModBoys Customs Controller Performance Standard and includes calibrated TMR joystick modules.

After processing, the controller is returned to its original retail packaging and shipped with additional protective materials.

Mint

Includes a brand-new, unused original controller with no cosmetic wear.
Original retail packaging is not included and may have been opened, damaged, or incomplete prior to arrival. The controller is shipped in a standard ModBoys Customs box for protection.

All modifications and add-on components are brand new and professionally installed. Each controller meets the ModBoys Customs Controller Performance Standard and includes calibrated TMR joystick modules.

Refurbished

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned original controller.
The controller is fully refurbished prior to shipping, including internal and external cleaning, replacement of worn components where required, and full functionality testing.

Minor cosmetic wear may be present, such as light scratches, scuffs, or slight discoloration, consistent with normal prior use. These cosmetic imperfections do not affect performance.

All modifications and add-on components are brand new and professionally installed. Each controller meets the ModBoys Customs Controller Performance Standard and includes calibrated TMR joystick modules.

Refurbished Re-Shell

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned original controller rebuilt with a brand-new custom external shell.
The exterior casing is brand new, while internal components originate from a refurbished controller.

The controller is fully disassembled, cleaned, tested, and rebuilt prior to shipping. Worn internal components are replaced where required.

All modifications and add-on components are brand new and professionally installed. Each controller meets the ModBoys Customs Controller Performance Standard and includes calibrated TMR joystick modules.

Console Performance Standard

All consoles sold by ModBoys Customs are held to the same performance standard, regardless of cosmetic condition or external housing.

Each console is professionally refurbished and tested to ensure it meets or exceeds the functional performance of a stock, unmodified console. Where applicable, thermal servicing or cooling upgrades are performed to maintain or improve thermal efficiency and operational stability compared to the original factory configuration.

To meet this standard, each console is verified for:

  • Proper operation of core system functions and installed modifications
  • Stable power delivery and reliable system operation
  • Port connectivity and internal component functionality
  • Thermal performance consistent with, or improved over, original factory specifications, including servicing or replacement of thermal pads, thermal paste, or cooling components where applicable

Cosmetic condition or shell configuration does not affect performance, stability, or expected lifespan.

Console Condition Classifications

Refurbished

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned console.
Minor cosmetic wear such as light scratches, scuffs, or discoloration may be present.

Each console is refurbished prior to shipping, including internal and external cleaning, cosmetic touch-ups where possible, and functionality testing of ports, internal hardware, and installed modifications where applicable.

Cosmetic imperfections do not affect performance. All consoles meet the ModBoys Customs Console Performance Standard.

Refurbished Re-Shell

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned console rebuilt with a brand-new custom external shell.
The exterior casing is brand new, while internal components originate from a refurbished console.

Each console is fully disassembled, cleaned, tested, and rebuilt prior to shipping. Performance and reliability meet the same standards as all ModBoys Customs consoles.

Handheld Performance Standard

All handheld systems sold by ModBoys Customs are held to the same performance standard, regardless of cosmetic condition or external housing.

Each handheld is professionally refurbished and tested to ensure it meets or exceeds the functional performance of a stock, unmodified unit. Where applicable, internal servicing or component replacement is performed to maintain or improve reliability and operational stability.

To meet this standard, each handheld is verified for:

  • Proper operation of buttons, controls, and internal components
  • Reliable power delivery and battery operation (where applicable)
  • Port connectivity and internal hardware functionality
  • Stable system operation consistent with original manufacturer specifications

Cosmetic condition or shell configuration does not affect performance, reliability, or expected lifespan.

Handheld Condition Classifications

Refurbished

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned handheld system.
Minor cosmetic wear may be present, such as light scratches, scuffs, or discoloration consistent with normal prior use.

Each unit is refurbished prior to shipping, including internal and external cleaning, cosmetic touch-ups where possible, and functionality testing of buttons, ports, and internal components.

All handhelds meet the ModBoys Customs Handheld Performance Standard.

Refurbished Re-Shell

Includes a professionally restored, pre-owned handheld system rebuilt with a brand-new custom external shell.
The exterior housing is brand new, while internal components originate from a refurbished handheld.

Each unit is fully disassembled, cleaned, tested, and rebuilt prior to shipping. Performance meets the same standards as all ModBoys Customs handheld systems.

New Products

Products classified as New are unused items sourced from the original manufacturer or third-party suppliers and are sealed in their original factory packaging.

New products are expected to meet original manufacturer specifications and are shipped in their original sealed packaging unless otherwise stated.

Used Products

Products classified as Used are pre-owned items that have been previously used.

Used products are tested for basic functionality prior to shipment. Cosmetic wear consistent with normal prior use may be present, including light scratches, scuffs, or signs of handling. Such cosmetic wear does not affect basic functionality unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Used products are shipped in standard protective packaging.
